Store Your Pictures With Pikeo

Posted by admin under living, news, web2.0 - No Comments

Pikeo is a beta product from France Telecom Research and Development LLC in South San Francisco and is not a “certified” France Telecom product. What does this mean in normal language? It means that:

* We think that pictures tell better stories when you can give people some idea of where they were taken. Pikeo lets you look at your pictures along with a map showing ‘the scenes of your crimes’.
* Pikeo also helps you organise your pictures in smart albums based on ‘what’, ‘where’, and ‘who’ information (called ‘tags’). You can decide which of your pictures you want to share with your family, friends and everyone else, and which ones you want no one to see. Ever, ever.
* Best of all, you’ll be in full control of your community via our innovative ‘Contacts’ browsing tool – which lets you keep the riff-raff out (unless your family and friends are riff-raff. That’s for you to decide
).

1. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.
2. Product is tested. 20 bugs are found.
3. Programmer fixes 10 of the bugs and explains to the testing department that the other 10 aren’t really bugs.
4. Testing department finds that five of the fixes didn’t work and discovers 15 new bugs.
5. Repeat three times steps 3 and 4.
6. Due to marketing pressure and an extremely premature product announcement based on overly-optimistic programming schedule, the product is released.
7 Users find 137 new bugs.
8 Original programmer, having cashed his royalty check, is nowhere to be found.
9 Newly-assembled programming team fixes almost all of the 137 bugs, but introduce 456 new ones.
10 Original programmer sends underpaid testing department a postcard from Fiji. Entire testing department quits.
11 Company is bought in a hostile takeover by competitor using profits from their latest release, which had 783 bugs.
12 New CEO is brought in by board of directors. He hires a programmer to redo program from scratch.

Café Serré

Café Serré from Denis Bouyer on Vimeo.

By : Vincent E Sousa, Bertrand Avril, Yann de Préval and Denis Bouyer.
Production Time : 4 Weeks.
Software : 3dsMax, Photoshop, After Effects.

A gluttonous fatty police officer caught an unlucky cafe cashier breaker without conscious, very clever setup, and as a result of 4 weeks including composition, I must admit it’s a pretty nice work.

Eole

Posted by admin under internet, living, news - No Comments

Eole
from Eole on Vimeo.

Eole is a short 3D movie directed by 3 students of Supinfocom Arles in 2008 : Aurélien Martineau, Etienne Métois and Moana Wisniewski. The story is about the unexpected meeting between a yellow shirt sailor (responsible for aircraft movement) and a kite on a aircraft carrier.

But what I don’t understand is, is there something special within? Like spiritual freedom? Those kites are some symbols? Just like sirens to the old time sailor? I like this short movie only because its nicely done camera view, and I think it’s pale on the story. I still regard The Cathedral as the greatest 3D short movie presenting spiritual world.
